A guided tour of the Budvue Dashboard — what each section does and where to find what you need.
The Budvue Dashboard is your central control panel for everything in-store. This article introduces each main section so you know where to go for any task.
The Dashboard is updated regularly. If a section looks slightly different from what's described here, the core functionality remains the same. Contact tvsupport@budvue.com if you can't find a feature.
Accessing the Dashboard
The Budvue Dashboard is a web application — there's nothing to install. Simply open your web browser (Google Chrome recommended) and log in with your credentials.
Switching Between Locations
If your account manages more than one store, you'll see a location selector at the top of the dashboard. Click it to see a list of all your stores and select the one you want to work on.
All features — Products, Smart Tags, Menus, Scheduling, Overrides, and more — are filtered to the selected location. Always confirm you have the right store selected before making changes.
Main Dashboard Sections
Products
The Products page shows your full inventory as synced from your POS. Key features include:
Sales Velocity — units sold over the past 60 days divided by days in stock, giving a more accurate picture of demand than standard POS reports
Days Inventory — an estimate of how long current stock will last based on sales velocity
Top Sellers — your 50 fastest-moving products, with flags for out-of-stock items
Distressed Products — inventory that has been sitting for 30, 90, or 180+ days
Filter by Category, Brand, or Tag — narrow your view to find the right products quickly
From the Products page you can also apply Smart Tags to products and add them to promotional menus.
Smart Tags & Menus
Smart Tags are labels you apply to products (e.g. "Staff Pick", "On Sale", "New Arrival"). Tagged products are automatically grouped into your Promo TV menus.
From this section you can:
Create, edit, and delete Smart Tags
Apply or remove tags from products
Create promotional slides and preview how they'll appear on your screens
Scheduling
The Scheduling section controls when your promotions are displayed. You can:
Set date ranges for a promotion to be active
Schedule specific time windows (e.g. Happy Hour promotions from 4–6 PM)
Manage plays per hour and slide ratios — how frequently each promotion appears in rotation
Folders
Folders let you organise your promotional slides into groups for easier management. This is especially useful for stores running multiple promotions simultaneously or managing seasonal campaigns.
Smart Ads
If Smart Ads are enabled on your account, this section shows available brand advertisements and lets you monitor your ad playlists. Smart Ads display automatically alongside your menus and generate revenue for your store.
Overrides
Use Overrides to make instant corrections to product information that can't wait for the next POS sync. For example, if a price is displaying incorrectly, an Override lets you fix it immediately without editing your POS.
Getting a TV Access Code
Each screen in your store connects to the Budvue service using a unique TV Access Code. If you need to reconnect a screen or set up a new device, you'll generate this code from the Dashboard. See: How To: Regenerate a TV Access Code.
