Use this article when: You want certain slides (like high-margin products) to show more often than others.
Your plays-per-hour numbers look "wonky" or stuck.
Only a few slides are playing on repeat, while others are being skipped.

Understanding Play Ratios
The Budvue Dashboard uses a smart slider system to calculate how many times a slide appears in an hour.
Auto-Adjustment: Because there are only 60 minutes in an hour, the sliders are relative. If you turn the "Plays" up for one slide, the dashboard will automatically adjust the others down to ensure the total fits the time available.
The "All Down" Conflict: If you turn the sliders all the way down for every slide, the system may struggle to calculate a rotation, leading to playback issues or errors.
Steps to Adjust or Fix Ratios
Log Out & Log In: If the slider bars or numbers look "stuck" or mathematically incorrect, log out of the Dashboard entirely and log back in. This clears your browser's session data and refreshes the calculator.
Navigate to Playlists: Go to the TV tab and select the Playlist you wish to edit.
Adjust the Sliders: Move the slider to the right to increase the frequency of a slide.
Move the slider to the left to decrease it.
Balance the Load: Ensure that you haven't set every single slide to the "Minimum" or "Maximum." For a healthy rotation, keep a mix of frequencies.
Expected result: The "Plays per Hour" updates to show a realistic distribution, and the TV displays all active slides according to the set priority.
Best Practices: Playlist Housekeeping
To keep your dashboard running smoothly and your play ratios accurate:
Delete Unused Slides: It is best practice to delete slides that you won't be using for a while or don't plan to use again. Large playlists full of inactive or "minimized" slides can clutter the device and slow down your TV experience.
Keep it Balanced: Leave most slides at a "Standard" level. Only "Turn Up" the 2–3 most important slides you want customers to see most frequently.
Monitor Slide Count: If you have a very high number of slides, each individual slide will naturally have a lower "Plays per Hour" because they are all competing for the same 60 minutes.
