This guide explains how Budvue works with your Cova POS — how to activate the integration and how to set up your product fields so your menus display correctly.
Setting Up the Integration
To connect Budvue to your Cova POS:
Contact your Cova account representative.
Ask them to release your API credentials to Budvue.
Your Cova rep will reach out to us directly with the connection details — there's nothing else you need to do to activate the integration.
Where Does Product Information Come From?
All product details for your Budvue menus come directly from your Cova POS. Because Cova's setup can vary between accounts, we recommend creating a dedicated set of custom fields specifically for your Budvue products.
This keeps your Budvue display fields separate from how product information appears on your receipts and in your reporting — giving you full control over what shows on your menus.

Setting Up Custom Fields in Cova
Follow these steps to create the custom Budvue fields in your Cova account and add them to your product templates.
Part 1 — Create the Custom Fields
In Cova, go to Catalog → Classification in the left navigation menu.
Click the Fields tab.
Click + New Field.
Fill in the Field Name, Field Type, and any Selection options (for dropdown fields).
Click Create.
Repeat these steps to create each of the following fields:

Once a field is successfully created, you'll see its Field Details and Field Usage summary. Repeat until all fields are created.
Part 2 — Add the Fields to Your Product Templates
Once your custom fields are created, you need to add them to each product Template (category) in Cova:
Go to Catalog → Classification in the left navigation menu.
Click the Templates tab.
Click on a Template name to open it (e.g., Flower).
Next to the Template Name heading, click Edit.
Scroll down to the Field Groups section and click + Add New Group.
Name the new group "Budvue Menu".
Add the custom fields you created under this group.
Click Save.
Repeat these steps for each of your product Templates — Edibles, Pre-Rolls, Vapes, and any other categories you carry.
How to Highlight Specific Products with Flags
Budvue makes it easy to draw attention to specific products using icons called Flags (e.g., "Sale", "Staff Pick", "Featured", "Hot").
To set up Flags on your menu, contact our team at tvsupport@budvue.com. We'll code the flags into your menu design and let you know how to apply them to products in Cova.
