Device: Google TV Streamer 4K
Task: Perform a full system restart on the Google Streamer hardware to clear glitches or refresh the connection.
Use this article when: The device is acting sluggish, the app is frozen and won't respond to the remote, or you need to cycle the power on the system without unplugging cables.
Do not use this article if: You only want to reboot the Budvue app itself without restarting the whole device — see Google Streamer: How to Reboot the App & Clear Cache instead.
Steps
Exit to Home Screen - Press the Home button (the circle) on your Google remote to exit the Budvue app and return to the main Google TV home screen.
Open Settings - Navigate to the very top menu, then scroll all the way to the right to highlight the Settings gear icon.
Open All Settings - Clicking the gear will open a quick menu on the side of the screen. Scroll down and click All settings.
Navigate to System - Scroll down through the settings menu and click on System.
Select Restart - Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the System menu and click Restart. Confirm by clicking Restart again when prompted.
Expected result: The device will shut down, display the Google logo as it reboots, and automatically relaunch the Budvue menu once the system loads.
Resolution
If the system glitches or performance lag that prompted the reset are cleared, no further action is needed.
