Device: BuzzTV / DS1 (Android)
Task: Physically connect and power on the BuzzTV or DS1 box for the first time.

Use this article when: You are setting up a BuzzTV or DS1 device for the first time, or after a factory reset, and need to connect it to a TV.

Do not use this article if:

  • The device is already powered on and showing a screen — see the relevant screen troubleshooting article instead.

  • You need to install the Budvue app — see BuzzTV / DS1: Install the Budvue App after completing this setup.

Prerequisites

Before starting, have the following ready:

  • BuzzTV or DS1 box

  • HDMI cable

  • Power cord

  • TV with an available HDMI port

  • TV remote

Steps

Step 1: Connect the HDMI Cable

  1. Locate the HDMI port on the back of the BuzzTV box.

  2. Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the BuzzTV box.

  3. Locate an available HDMI port on your TV.

  4. Plug the other end into the TV.

Expected result: HDMI cable is securely connected at both ends.

Step 2: Connect the Power Cord

  1. Locate the power port on the back of the BuzzTV box.

  2. Plug in the power cord.

  3. Plug the other end into a standard wall outlet — not a USB port on the TV.

Expected result: The BuzzTV box powers on. A blue light should appear on the front of the device.

Step 3: Select the Correct TV Input

  1. Turn on your TV.

  2. Using your TV remote, press the Input or Source button.

  3. Select the HDMI input that matches where you plugged in the BuzzTV box (e.g., HDMI 1 or HDMI 2).

Expected result: The BuzzTV home screen or Android setup screen appears on your TV.

Tip: If nothing appears, double-check that you have selected the correct HDMI input on your TV.

Resolution

If the BuzzTV home screen is visible, hardware setup is complete. Proceed to BuzzTV / DS1: Connect to Wi-Fi, then BuzzTV / DS1: Install the Budvue App.
