  • The app is already installed and you need to update it — see BuzzTV / DS1: Update the Budvue App instead.

  • You have a FireStick — see FireStick: Initial Setup & Configuration instead.

Prerequisites

Before starting, confirm:

  • The device is connected to Wi-Fi (see BuzzTV / DS1: Connect to Wi-Fi)

  • You have a Google account set up for this location (or are ready to create one)

  • You have the unique access code for this screen (found in the Budvue Dashboard → Media Devices tab)

Part 1: Set Up a Google Play Account

  1. On a computer, create a Google account specifically for this location.

    • Use your location's email address as the username.

    • Use your town name as the password (keep it simple and consistent).

  2. Save these credentials — you may need them again for future updates.

Part 2: Install the App

Step 1: Open Google Play Store

  1. Press the Home button on the remote to open the setup page.

  2. Navigate to and select Google Play Store.

  3. If prompted to sign in, use the Google account you just created.

Step 2: Download the Budvue App

  1. Go to the Search bar and type Budvue.

  2. Select the Budvue app from the results.

  3. Tap Download (or Install).

  4. Once downloaded, launch the app.

Expected result: The Budvue app opens and shows a setup/access code screen.

Step 3: Enter Your Access Code

  1. When prompted, enter the unique access code for this screen.

    • Access codes are found (or generated) in the Budvue Dashboard → Media Devices tab.

    • Each code is single-use only. If you need a new one, generate it from the Dashboard.

Expected result: The Budvue menu loads and content begins displaying.

Step 4: Adjust Screen (if needed)

If the orientation or aspect ratio looks incorrect:

  1. Press the OK button on the remote to open the App Admin panel.

  2. Navigate to the screen adjustment option and make corrections.

Part 3: Enable Automatic Updates (Recommended)

  1. Open the Google Play Store.

  2. Tap your profile picture (top right).

  3. Go to Settings → Network Preferences → Auto-update apps.

  4. Select Update all apps over Wi-Fi.

Expected result: The Budvue app will update automatically in the background.

Resolution

If the Budvue menu is displaying correctly, installation is complete.
