Issue: The screen looks blurry, stretched, cut off, or displays at the wrong size.
Use this article when: The Budvue menu content appears visually distorted — blurry, stretched, or not fitting the screen correctly.
Do not use this article if:
The screen is completely black, white, or blue — see the relevant screen troubleshooting article instead.
You have a FireStick — resolution is adjusted differently on FireStick (Settings → Display & Sounds → Display → Video Resolution).
Steps
Step 1: Exit the Budvue App
Press the blue Home button on your remote to go to the setup page.
When the "Signage Resuming in..." prompt appears, click Cancel.
Expected result: You are on the BuzzTV home/setup screen.
Step 2: Open Display Settings
Select All Apps, then open the grey Settings icon.
Tap Advanced Settings.
Tap Display, then Screen Resolution.
Tap Display Mode.
Expected result: A list of available display resolution options appears.
Step 3: Set Resolution to 1080
Select the 1080 option — this is the recommended setting for the Budvue app.
Expected result: The display resolution updates immediately.
Step 4: Return to Signage
Press the Back button until you return to the setup page.
Select Launch Signage to reopen the Budvue menu.
Expected result: The Budvue menu displays correctly at full resolution.
Resolution
If the menu now appears sharp and correctly sized, no further action is needed.
