Task: Manually update the Clickspace TV app and enable automatic updates.

Platform: BuzzTV / DS1 (Android)

Use this article when: You need to update the Clickspace TV app on a BuzzTV or DS1 media player, or want to enable auto-updates so future updates happen automatically in the background.

Do not use this article if: You are using a Google Streamer — see Google Streamer/ONN: How to Update the Budvue App instead.

Prerequisites

Before starting the update process, make sure you have the following ready:

  1. Wi-Fi Connection: Confirm the device is connected to the internet.

  2. Store Google Account: Have a generic store Google account (email & password) ready to sign in. (If you don't have one, create a free account on a phone or computer browser using your store name before starting).

  3. Check Your Device's Signed-In Account:

    • Exit the app by pressing Home on your remote (select Cancel when the "Signage will resume..." prompt appears).

    • Open Settings (gear icon) → select Accounts.

    • Look at the signed-in accounts listed:

      • If a Budvue account or old account is listed: Select it, click Remove Account, and confirm. Repeat for any other outdated accounts.

      • If no account or your store account is listed: You are ready.

    • Press the Back button on your remote repeatedly until you return to the main BuzzTV home screen.

How to Update & Enable Auto-Updates

1. Open the Google Play Store

From the home screen, select All Apps and open Play Store.

Don't see the Play Store? Open Settings (grey gear icon) → AppsSee all appsShow system apps. Scroll down and select Google Play Store.

Prompted to sign in? Log in using your store location's Google account prepared in the prerequisites.

2. Update App & Enable Auto-Update

  • Select the Search icon on the left side of the screen. Type Clickspace TV into the search bar and select the app from the results.
  • Select Update (or Update from Google Play) and wait for the download to complete.
  • While still on this exact app page, select the three dots in the top-right corner and check the box for Enable Auto-update.

Expected Result: The app updates to the latest version, and future updates will now install automatically over Wi-Fi without manual effort.

3. Relaunch Clickspace TV

Press the Back button on your remote until you are back on the Home screen, then select Launch.

Expected Result: The updated Clickspace TV menu loads normally.

Important Note on Major Version Updates (e.g., v1.0.0 to v2.1.0)

If you are completing a major version upgrade, the app may prompt you for a TV Access Code upon relaunch or during the next device reboot/reset.

Resolution

If the app updated successfully and your menu display loads correctly without requesting a code, no further action is required.

Contact Support
