Device: BuzzTV / DS1 (Android)
Task: Perform a proper software restart of the BuzzTV or DS1 device.
Use this article when: The device is frozen, sluggish, not loading content, or behaving unexpectedly, and a restart is needed.
Do not use this article if:
The screen is black with no power — see BuzzTV / DS1: Black Screen instead (the device may need to be power cycled, not restarted).
You have a FireStick — the restart method is different. Hold the Select + Play/Pause buttons for 5–10 seconds on the FireStick remote.
Steps
Press the blue Home button on your remote to exit the Budvue app and return to the main BuzzTV screen.
When the "Signage Resuming in..." countdown appears, click "Cancel" to prevent the app from relaunching immediately.
Click "All Apps", then open the grey Settings icon.
Scroll down and select "Device Preferences".
Select "About".
Click "Restart", then click "Restart" again to confirm.
Wait for the device to restart — it will automatically reopen the Budvue app when complete.
Expected result: Device restarts and the Budvue menu loads automatically.
Resolution
If the issue that prompted the restart is now resolved, no further action is needed.
