FireStick: Uninstall and Reinstall the Budvue App

Device: Amazon FireStick / Fire TV
Task: Remove and cleanly reinstall the Budvue app on a FireStick.

Use this article when: The Budvue app is persistently crashing, corrupted, or not functioning correctly and a clean reinstall is needed.

Important: After reinstalling, you will need a new access code to reconnect the screen. The original code will no longer work.


Part 1: Uninstall the App

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, go to Settings.

  2. Select Applications.

  3. Select Manage Installed Applications.

  4. Find and select Budvue.

  5. Choose Uninstall and follow the on-screen prompts.

Expected result: The Budvue app is removed from the FireStick.


Part 2: Reinstall the App

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, open the Amazon App Store.

  2. Search for "Budvue".

  3. Select the app and tap Download.

  4. Once installed, open the app.

Expected result: The Budvue app opens and shows the setup/access code screen.


Part 3: Enter a New Access Code

After reinstalling, you need a new access code to reconnect this screen.

  1. Log in to your Budvue Dashboard.

  2. Go to the Devices tab.

  3. Generate a new access code for this screen.

  4. Enter the code when prompted in the app.

Each access code is unique to the device and is single-use only.

Expected result: The Budvue menu loads and content begins displaying.


Resolution

If the Budvue menu is displaying correctly after reinstalling, no further action is needed.
