What your store needs in terms of internet, hardware, and browsers to run Budvue reliably.

Before setting up Budvue, make sure your store meets the minimum requirements below. A stable internet connection is the single most important factor in keeping your screens running smoothly.

Stability

Consistent connection required — intermittent Wi-Fi is the most common cause of screen issues

Shared network

Budvue devices can share a business network, but ensure adequate bandwidth if many devices are connected


? Tip

For best results, connect your Budvue media player to the 5GHz Wi-Fi band if your router supports it, or use a wired Ethernet connection. Puck-style devices (Google TV Streamer, Onn 4K Pro) include a built-in Ethernet port for maximum stability.

Network Ports & Firewall

If your store uses a managed network or corporate firewall, the following should be open to allow Budvue to communicate with our servers:


Port / Protocol

Secure communication with Budvue servers and POS data sync

Fallback communication (redirected to HTTPS)

NTP (UDP 123)

Device time synchronisation — required for scheduling to work correctly


Media Player Devices

Budvue runs on Android or Amazon Fire OS media players connected to your TV via HDMI. See Budvue Compatible Hardware for currently recommended and supported devices.
