Modified on Tue, 2 Jun at 2:01 PM

Device: Amazon FireStick / Fire TV (4K Max)

Task: Manually adjust the video resolution output to fix fuzzy, small, distorted, or cut-off screen displays.

Use this article when: Your TV menu content looks blurry, pixelated, stretched, or isn't looking perfectly clear.

Do not use this article if: Your screen is showing a solid white or blank display — see How To: Resolve a White Screen (Firestick) instead.

Steps

  1. Exit to Home Screen - Press the Home button on your Alexa remote to exit the Budvue app and open the main Amazon Fire TV home screen.

  2. Open Settings - Navigate across the main menu bar to the far right and select the Settings gear icon.

  3. Open Display Settings - Scroll down through the options and click on Display & Sounds, then click on Display.

  4. Open Video Resolution - Click on Video Resolution from the menu list.

  5. Adjust Resolution - Scroll down and select 1080p 60Hz from the available choices to lock the device into a crisp, stable high-definition layout.

Expected result: The FireStick instantly shifts output resolutions, making the text and product imagery on your Budvue menu appear perfectly sharp and clear.

Resolution

Once the display resolution updates, press the Home button and navigate back to the Budvue app. The menus will reload with corrected scaling and clarity within a few moments.

Note: If changing the FireStick resolution settings does not resolve the issue, it is highly recommended to check your physical TV's display or picture settings using the TV's original remote. Ensure features like "Aspect Ratio", "Picture Size", or "Zoom" are set to "Standard", "Direct", or "Fit to Screen" so the TV isn't accidentally stretching the image.
