BuzzTV/DS1: "Digital Signage Set Up" Message

Issue: The screen is displaying a "Digital Signage Set Up" message instead of the Budvue menu.

Use this article when: Your BuzzTV or DS1 screen is showing a "Digital Signage Set Up" setup screen.

What This Means

This message appears when the BuzzTV box cannot reach the Budvue server, usually because it is not connected to the internet. Resolving the Wi-Fi connection typically clears this screen.


Steps

Step 1: Press Retry

On the "Digital Signage Set Up" screen, press the Retry button on your remote. This often resolves the issue on its own.

Expected result: The Budvue menu loads.

If Retry does not work, proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Connect to Wi-Fi

The BuzzTV box may not be connected to the internet.

  1. Press the blue Home button on your remote to go to the BuzzTV home screen.

  2. If prompted about restarting signage, press OK to cancel.

  3. Navigate to the Wi-Fi icon using the arrow keys and press OK.

  4. Select your Wi-Fi network, type in your password using the on-screen keyboard, and confirm.

  5. Press the Back button to return to the home screen.

  6. Navigate to "Launch" (under "Launch Signage?") and press OK.

  7. On the setup screen, press Retry.

Expected result: The Budvue menu loads after reconnecting to Wi-Fi.

Multiple boxes? Repeat these steps for each BuzzTV box showing this message.


Resolution

If the Budvue menu appears after pressing Retry or reconnecting to Wi-Fi, no further action is needed.
