Note: This issue only occurs on BuzzTV/DS1 devices. If you have a Fire Stick or another device type, please contact us at tvsupport@budvue.com and we'll help you out.
If your BuzzTV/DS1 screen is showing an Android screen with an Iron Man (or other default Android) wallpaper instead of your Budvue menu, don't worry — this just means the device's home button has been set to the wrong launcher. Here's how to fix it.
Quick Fix — Try This First
Point your remote control at the device and press the blue Home button.
Look at the bottom of the screen — did a small white box appear?
If yes, use the remote to select "Clickspace Kiosk".
When asked, choose "Always" (not "Just once").
That's it! Your screen should now show your Budvue menu and the Iron Man background won't come back.
If the Quick Check Doesn't Work (Using a USB Mouse):
If pressing the blue home button doesn't bring up the white box, you'll need to use a USB mouse to navigate the Android interface:
Connect USB Mouse: Plug a USB mouse into one of the USB ports on your device.
Access App Drawer:
- Move the mouse cursor to the very bottom of the screen, in the area opposite the white search bar (if visible).
- Click and drag the mouse cursor all the way up to the top of the screen. This action will pull up a page displaying all the applications installed on the device.
Open Settings: Look for a grey gear icon labelled "Settings" (it's important to select the grey one, not a green one). Click on it.
Navigate to Apps: Within the Settings menu, find and click on "Apps" or "Applications".
See All Apps: Select "See all apps".
Show System Apps: Select "Show system apps".
Find Launcher3: Scroll through the list of apps until you find one named "Launcher3". It will have a small white house icon next to it. Click on "Launcher3".
Clear Defaults: On the "Launcher3" app information page, find and click on "Clear defaults". If prompted, select "OK".
Return to Iron Man Screen: Use the back button on the remote or a right-click on the mouse, repeatedly, until you return to the Android screen with the Iron Man background.
Reset Home Button: Now that the defaults for the previous launcher are cleared, press the blue home button on your remote again.
Select Clickspace Kiosk: A white box should appear with two options: "Use Clickspace Kiosk as Home" and "Use Launcher3 as Home". Click on "Use clickspace Kiosk as Home".
Choose "Always": You will be asked to choose between "Just once" and "Always". Select "Always".
- Outcome: Following these steps should reset your home button to the correct Clickspace Kiosk, and the Iron Man background will be replaced.
